Field Training for Environmental Science Students at the National University of Food Technologies

On October 23 2025 a study trip was organized for environmental science students and faculty members from the Department of Ecology and Environmental Management at the National University of Food Technologies to the Koziatyn Machine-Building Plant of PJSC UTK and the Yuzefo-Mykolaiv Biogas Complex.
Bachelor’s and master’s degree candidates had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the production facilities at the Koziatyn Machine-Building Plant, where they observed modern technologies for manufacturing high-quality equipment for biogas complexes and bioethanol plants.

Yevhen Lukashevych, CEO of UTK PJSC, personally presented the technology for converting food industry and agricultural waste into biogas. The students gained a detailed understanding of how biogas reactors, gas holders, and bioscrubbers for biogas purification work, as well as a modern biomethane liquefaction line. The raw materials used for production at the Yuzefo-Mykolaiv station are beet pulp, chicken manure, and apple pomace. The process of producing liquefied biomethane and organic fertilizer—digestate—drew particular attention.

A Ukrainian technology company is convinced that training qualified environmental specialists is possible only through close cooperation between the business sector and educational institutions.
