Spiral heat exchanger

Spiral heat exchanger

DESCRIPTION:

Purpose: for heating or cooling liquids, vapors, and vapor-gas systems.

How it works.

In a spiral heat exchanger, the heat transfer surface is formed by two metal sheets coiled into a spiral. Thus, two spiral channels, isolated from one another, are formed inside the unit, through which the heat transfer fluids flow, typically in a countercurrent configuration.

ADVANTAGES:

  • Compact design;
  • Low hydraulic resistance;
  • Heat transfer intensity at elevated coolant velocities;
  • Ease of operation and maintenance.
