Bioethanol plants

Bioethanol — as a renewable alternative to petrol — already accounts for 11 per cent of global consumption. Stable demand and a growth rate of 7% per year ensure a rapid return on investment.

Production technology using biomass and biodegradable components produces dehydrated ethyl alcohol with negligible impurities, which reduces CO₂ emissions by at least 75 % compared with fossil fuels and is greenhouse gas neutral.

The advantages of bioethanol production include growing demand, an inventory turnover period of up to 5 days, and a production profit margin of over 35 per cent. At the same time, the profit margin for DDGS, DCO, CO₂ and CH₄ as by-products exceeds 100%.

For 20 years, in partnership with global leaders, we have been building competitive bioethanol production plants. State-of-the-art technologies, energy-efficient solutions and licensed equipment enable us to produce bioethanol in accordance with EU standards and to scale up production.

Production process:

On molasses

Molasses is the most efficient feedstock for bioethanol production in Ukraine. In terms of profitability, this type of production is many times more profitable than sugar production.

In addition to bioethanol, the technology enables the production of liquefied CO2 and leaves molasses stillage as a potential feedstock for a biogas plant.

On grain

Corn and grain byproducts as feedstocks result in the lowest production costs for bioethanol. And with an existing alcohol production facility, such an expansion would be particularly profitable. In addition to bioethanol, the technology allows for the production of CO2 and DDGS for animal feed.

What is included in a general contract:

Let’s start by conducting an audit of the existing production facility’s capabilities regarding the use of raw materials, products, waste, structures, equipment, and utilities to reduce the capital and operating costs of the future bioethanol division.

Opure will conduct pre-project testing of the raw materials. Based on the results, Maguin will develop the technology, taking into account all opportunities to increase product yield while maintaining a purity of 99.9% Et. Ukrainian expertise will help avoid common local pitfalls, as the plant is being designed by our own process engineers and designers.

We handle the design review and all permits, licenses, and exemptions ourselves so you don’t waste any time. Construction is carried out by our own team, with the option of bringing in subcontractors. We design and manufacture equipment in-house so that we can not only save money but also ensure the necessary specifications, know-how, and dimensions—factors that impact profitability, space efficiency, and ease of maintenance in the workshops.

We install the equipment entirely on our own and take full responsibility for the piping, cladding, and automation.

We commission the plant, train the staff, and bring it up to design capacity. Together, we correct minor errors and provide a 3-year warranty covering free replacement of all equipment.
